Mit ihrer schoenen Stimme bereichert sie nun schon zum zweitenmal die Buehne der St. Patersburg Oper. Wir sprachen bereits im herbst 2011 mit ihr, damals war sie Adele in der Fledermaus. Unser Operninterview: Juliana Tauschinger-Dempsey
die Susanna in Mozarts Oper Figaros Hochzeit singt. Tochter deutsch-Amerikanischer Eltern, ihr Vater ist ebenfalls Opernsaenger, wuchs Juliana mit der deutschen Sprache auf, inzwischen ist die Saengerin wieder in den USA beheimatet und wir freuen uns, dass wir Ihnen dieses interview in deutscher Sprache mit dieser Sopranistin bringen koennen, die Sie hoffentlich sowohl in St. Petersburg als auch in vielen zukuenftigen Engagements erleben koennen.
Waehrend einer der letzten Proben auf der Buehne des St. Petersburger Paladiums steht die huebsche Sopranistin Juliana Tauschinger-Dempsey als "Susanna"dicht neben ihrem "Figaro", Adelno Guidarelli, beide stimmgewaltig und mit der noetigen Komik fuer diese Rollen in Mozarts Oper, die Geschichte eine amuesante Verwechslungskommoedie.
Dass die Geschichte auf einer franzoesischen Vorlage beruht, in der der Autor Beaumarchais auch, auf amuesante Weise zwar, Kritik uebt an Konventionen, wie dem Vorrecht der Adeligen, sich zu nehmen,was sie wollten, mag man in Mozarts huebscher Verwechslungsgeschichte nicht so ganz erkennen. Dass solche Einsicht wichtig war und letztlich zur franzoesischen Revolution fuehrte, hat der Librettist weitgehend aus der Oper bei seiner Umschreibung herausgefiltert.
Dass die Frauen jedoch das Schicksal der Maenner fest im klugen Griff haben , das wird dem klugen Beobachter bald klar.
Die erste deutschsprachige Version, uebrigens, stammt von DEM Herrn von Knigge, Freiherrn und nicht ganz ernstzunehmenden Selbstbiografen. Wer kennt nicht den "Knigge", Deuitschlands Benimmbuch Nummer Eins , bei dem in den USA Amy Vanderbilts Benimmbuch das Gegenstueck bildet?
Nun, unsere Susanna haelt sich tapfer und schlau, schluepft durch Tueren und so manche brenzlige Situation. Das Buehnenbild ist so zuckerig in rosa und hellblau, wie die leicht scheinende Musik. Juliana Tauschinger-Dempsey beschriebt in ihrem Interview die Vorarbeit, die zu diser schoenen Rolle gehoert.
Hier ist die Biografie unseres Studiogastes Juliana Tauschinger-Dempsey:
Lyric coloratura, Julianna Tauschinger-Dempsey made her Company debut at the beginning of the 2011-2012 season as Adele in Die Fledermaus. Earlier in 2011, after a six-year hiatus, the Mozart specialist made a triumphant return to the operatic stage singing her first Despina (Cosí fan tutte) with Opera Providence. As a young artist at the Zurich Opera, Ms. Tauschinger-Dempsey sang the Erste Dame in Die Kinderzauberflöte (The Magic Flute for Children), Fiordiligi (Cosí fan tutte) and Anna Gomez in a German production of Menotti’s The Consul. The former professional Flamenco dancer made her operatice debut singing and dancing the role of Frasquita (Carmen) with the Boston Lyric Opera. Also an active concert artist, Ms. Tauschinger-Dempsey first gained attention as the soprano soloist in Boston Pro Musica’s performances of Verdi’s Messa di Requiem and Beethoven’s Mass in C under the baton of Jeffrey Rink. Recently, she performed Mozart's Regina Coeli, K. 127, with Schola Cantorum of Boston director, Frederick Jodry, and his Exsultate Jubilate with harpsichordist and early music director, Marcellene Hawk. A devoted student and performer of German Lieder and the French chanson, Ms. Tauschinger-Dempsey has given numerous recitals in her native Cleveland, as well as in Boston, Providence, New York City, and Zurich, Switzerland. The soprano received an honors degree in Social Anthropology from Harvard University and earned a Master's degree in voice with distinction from the Manhattan School of Music.

Sehr duester und lang ist die Neuerzaehlung von Schneewittchen , wer ein fast episches maerchen gepaart mit viel Magie und Special Effects und das fast zwei-einhalb stundenlang sehen moechte, der schaue sich SnowWhite and the Huntsman an.
Das Exotische Marigold Hotel zieht fans der amuesanten geschichten bis nach indien, unter den Akteuren Dame Judy Dench und Maggie Smith und viele weitere Schauspieler, die fuer Qualitaet stehen. Dazu Indien, mit Farbe und Exotik.
Tampa Theatre (www.tampatheatre.org) bringt Ihnen dieses Wochenende den Wes Anderson Film , der die meisten Kinomillionen bei seiner US Premiere letztes Wochenende einspielte: Moonrise Kingdom, (leider startet dieser Film fruehestens in einer Woche in diesem Kino, da Sound of My Voice weiterhin spielt)
Moonrise Kingdom sielt an der Kueste Neu Englands in den sechziger Jahren, als ein Junge und ein Maedchen sich verlieben ( Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward) . Als sie beschliessen, zusammen wegzulaufen , suchen die verschiedensten Gruppen nach ihnen und durchforsten die kleine Statd. Bruce Willis spielt den Sheriff; Edward Norton den Pfadfindercamp Leiter; and Bill Murray Frances McDormand die Eltern des jungen Maedchens. Wes Anderson Leinwandlieblinge Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman spielen ebenfalls mit. Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola schrieben das drehbuch (The Darjeeling Limited). Moonrise Kingdom hat sowohl die Cannes Filmfestspiele eroeffnet und wird als DER Film des Sommers in den USA mit Spannung erwartet.

Announces 2012/2013 Masterworks Series
The website contains a complete outline of all Masterworks series conductors, guest artists, composers, music, dates, times, and theaters. In addition to the full 14-concert Imperial package, smaller packages are available: Intermezzo (10 concerts),
Ovation (7 concerts), Fanfare (7 concerts) and Discovery (5 concerts).
ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- The Florida Orchestra (TFO) announced the programming today for its 2012/2013 Tampa Bay Times Masterworks series under the leadership of Music Director Stefan Sanderling.
Sanderling said, “We have a very exciting season of music, which covers such favorites as Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’ Double Concerto and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. We will also be performing orchestral showpieces such as Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde, Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 and Strauss’ An Alpine Symphony. And we always want to introduce our audiences to works that they may not be that familiar with, but which provide them with some extraordinarily beautiful music. These include Bruckner’s Symphony No. 2, Sibelius’ Symphony No. 4, Lowell Liebermann’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 1, Vaughan Williams’ choral work Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant Us Peace) and Joseph Jongen’s Suite for Viola and Orchestra, all of which are among several Florida Orchestra premieres this season.”
Same Affordable Ticket Prices:
Last year The Florida Orchestra announced a bold accessibility initiative and lowered ticket prices for all Masterworks and Pops series concerts so that more people in Tampa Bay might enjoy live symphonic music. As a result, subscription sales are on the rise and many concerts have sold out. TFO Board Chair Thomas Farquhar said, “We decided to embrace our mission to serve more people in the region by making our tickets more affordable. Lower prices mean more people are able to attend a Florida Orchestra concert at one of our area’s performing arts centers.”
The orchestra will continue to offer the same affordable prices this season. Individual concert tickets for all Masterworks and Pops Series remain at $15, $30 and $45 per ticket, and student/educator and military tickets will continue to be priced at $10. Subscription packages offered include six Masterworks Series available in packages of 14, 10, 7, 5 and 3 pre-selected concerts, an 8-concert Pops Series, and two matinee Coffee Series. These fixed package subscriptions feature benefits including premium seating, free flexible ticket exchange privileges and bonus concerts. Coffee Series subscribers also receive a discount on their package purchase.
The Florida Orchestra also offers a “Compose Your Own” Series whereby subscribers can create customized packages by mixing and matching any combination of Masterworks or Pops concerts for just $25 per ticket. A minimum of three concerts is required and good seats are made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Fixed package benefits do not apply.
Florida Orchestra Music Director Stefan Sanderling conducts ten of the fourteen Masterworks programs on a season with four guest conductors making their TFO debuts. Recently celebrating his 26th and final season with the Seattle Symphony as its music director, Gerard Schwarz conducts a program featuring the TFO premiere of Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant Us Peace) with The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. The program also includes Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7. Bulgarian conductor and music director of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, Rossen Milanov is joined by TFO Principal Violist Ben Markwell for the TFO premiere of Joseph Jongen’s Suite for Viola and Orchestra on a program with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and the TFO premiere of Franck’s The Accursed Huntsman. Music Director of Symphony Orchestra of Milan Giuseppe Verdi, Chinese conductor Xian Zhang leads the orchestra and The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay in Mozart’s Requiem. Recently appointed Music Director of the National Opera of Lorraine and the Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy in France, New York native Tito Muñoz shares the stage with TFO Principal Flutist Clay Ellerbroek for the TFO premiere of Lowell Liebermann’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, Op. 39 on a program with Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides (Fingal’s Cave) and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
