Real Oktoberfest 2011 begins in September!
For those not flying to Munich you’ll find Florida's oldest and most authentic Bavarian festival right here in Tampa Bay at the German American Society of Pinellas County on 66th Street North in Pinellas Park. It’s their 22nd annual Oktoberfest!
Come join us Fri & Sat, September 30th & October 1st, Oct. 7th & 8th, AND October 14 & 15 from 4-10 pm.
There’ll be great authentic German food, beer and strudel; dance to live bands, be thrilled by performances of the Schuhplattler folk dancers and be delighted by Helmut’s Drehorgel (Street Organ).
German Vendors will be offering something for everyone!

Join us for a barrel full of German fun! It's the "Tenth Annual Indian Rocks Beach Oktoberfest," Saturday only, October 15th from 11 AM to 7 PM. Action 2000, the Rotary Club of Indian Rocks Beach, and the City of Indian Rocks Beach invite you to come and enjoy grilled Bratwurst, ice-cold German Oktoberfest beverages and other treats from local area vendors.
Come and dance to live German music from the ever-popular Cathy Lor-e-lei Band. Be sure to bring the kids for the Kinderfest activities from ELEVEN to TWO PM. You’ll find plenty to see and do! Visit the ever popular arts & crafts tents and a silent auction with TONS of GREAT DEALS including a vacation stay at Jimmy Buffett’s former home in Key West! Guten Tag, meine Damen und Herren, am Mikrophon (und als Autorin des Blogs) Susanne Nielsen,
Unsere Sendung fuehrt uns heute zu einer Autorin, deren Buch Nirgendwo in Afrika die geshcichte der Familie Redlich erzaehlt, die Deutschland verlassen musste und in Afrika eine neue heimat fand. Autorin Stefanie Zweig sprach mit Susanne Nielsen von der Deutschen Funksendung.

Der Film , den Regisseurin Charlotte link nach diesem Buch drehte, erhielt 2003 den Oscar fuer den besten Auslaendischen Film. Stefanie Zweig lebt heute weiterhin in frankfuert und ihre jaehrich erscheinenden Romane handeln von Afrika und auch von den Juedischen Familien in Frankfurt: "Die Kinder der Rothschildallee" ist eines ihrer neueren Werke.

Auflage) zu sprechen. Das Buch ist nach wie vor lesenswert , eine hinreissende geschcihte eines kleinen Deutschen Maedchens in Afrika. Der gleichnamige Film ist auch in den USA zu haben, Nowhere in Africa.
